Twitter announced yesterday that they are for the first time opening up advertising options for the ‘public’ (in the US) i.e. no longer invite only. But what does this mean? Twitter has allowed for businesses and organizations to pay for promoted tweets since March last year – but until now this had been arranged privately between Twitter and the respective company.
