On Tuesday, the social media giant announced that they are launching verified accounts, which are designed to “help people find the authentic accounts of celebrities and other high-profile people and businesses on Facebook.” Much similar to Twitter’s, the verified accounts will now display a small blue checkmark next to the account holder’s name, as well as appearing in search results on Facebook.
